Saad Mohseni, Chairman and CEO of MOBY Group

Named an Asia Game Changer by the Asia Society “for bringing news, information and entertainment to a barren landscape,” Saad Mohseni has built a reputation as a dynamic and innovative entrepreneur bringing world-class media to emerging and frontier markets. In 2002 Mr. Mohseni founded MOBY Group, one of the fastest-growing diversified media and strategic communications companies in South & Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Moby has re-shaped the media landscape in many of its territories of operation, and in 2012, 21st Century Fox became a strategic minority shareholder in the Group. In 2016, MOBY and VICE, the world’s pre-eminent youth media company, announced a joint venture headquartered in the UAE to launch Arabic-language VICE for youth audiences across MENA.

Prior to launching Moby Group, Mr. Mohseni served as an economic advisor to the Afghan government and headed the Equities & Corporate Finance divisions of one of Australia’s leading investment banks.

In 2011 Time magazine recognized Mr. Mohseni as one of the 100 most influential people in the world, in 2013 Foreign Policy named him among its 100 Global Thinkers, and in 2016 he was featured on Business Insider’s list of 100 global business visionaries. The Asia Society has named him an Asia 21 Young Leader and an Asia Game Changer. He has been widely applauded for his role in advancing press freedom, empowering civil society and defending women’s rights, and in 2015 he was identified by the BBC as one of 10 men globally championing gender equality.

Mr. Mohseni serves on the boards of the International Center for Journalists and the International Crisis Group. He has been profiled and interviewed extensively, including by The New York Times, The New Yorker, NPR, The Financial Times and Charlie Rose. Mr. Mohseni was born in the United Kingdom and currently resides in Dubai.
