In the lead up to this year's Annual Debate, The London Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the BCA is delighted to be hosting a networking reception with a senior delegation from South Africa. Join us at Squire Patton Boggs for an networking and discussion and to hear more about business opportunities in South Africa and the future of one of Africa’s most dynamic markets.
The delegation is led by Mr. Sihle Zikalala, the KwaZulu-Natal Minister for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (MEC). He will be joined by a range of senior officials and CEOs from across the KwaZulu-Natal region including the Mayors of eThekwini municipality (Durban), Msunduze Municipality (Pietermaritzburg) and Umhlathuze Municipality (Richard’s Bay). Also in attendance will be CEOs from Richard’s Bay Industrial Development Zone, Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal, The Durban Chamber of Commerce, the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Commerce, Dube Trade Port, Tourism KZN and the Film Commission.
Mr. Zikalala has highlighted the ease of doing business, promotion of SME’s and co-operatives as well as the drawing of the majority of previously-excluded people into the mainstream economy as some of his key focus areas. Increased investment attraction and retention is at the apex of his priorities. He will be playing a critical and leading role when KwaZulu-Natal hosts the World Economic Forum Africa (WEF-Africa) in Durban during May 2017.
